Cut-off mark is a criterion used or adopted by various institutions, faculties, and departments as a starting point or minimum criteria for admitting new intake or applicants who applied for a certain course at the University of Port Harcourt ( UNIPORT).

JAMB Fixed Cut-off Mark 2023/2024

To avoid confusion, Jamb has unified all cut-off marks across all universities in Nigeria. However, schools are free to set their own general cut-off marks as long as they do not fall below the Jamb-set cut-off mark. For 2023/2024 admission process, the uniport jamb cut-off mark is 180.

Please keep in mind that the University of Port Harcourt (UNIPORT) does not have a fixed cut-off mark for all departments and courses. The cut-off Mark for each course varies, and it is primarily affected by the course’s competitiveness.

Oh, I’d like to quickly explain these two; General Cut-Off Mark and Departmental cut-off mark.

Uniport General Cut-Off Mark 2023/2024

This is the minimum score that a student must achieve in order to be admitted to a school. If your score falls below a school’s cut-off mark, you won’t be able to register for their Post-UTME, which means you won’t be admitted to that school. Even if your score is 179, you will not be able to register for Uniport’s screening exercise/post utme because their general cut-off mark is 180.

Each school is free to set its own cut-off Mark. They are, however, unable to impose a cut-off mark lower than the JAMB minimum.

Uniport Departmental Cut-off Mark 2023/2024

The departmental cut-off mark is the minimum score required for admission to a school’s course or department. Uniport, for example, has a general cut-off mark of 180, but individual cut-off marks of 200, 200, and 200 for Pharmacy, Electrical Engineering, and Medicine and Surgery, respectively. The more competitive the course, the higher the Cut-off Mark. Every year, each university sets a cut-off mark for all courses. Some departments publish their departmental cut-off marks, whereas others do not.
