WAEC Timetable: The West African Examination Council timetable 2023 is one of the most searched terms among senior secondary students around west Africa. The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has released the calendar for the May/June 2023 exams (for school applicants). The WASSCE timetable is vital for candidates to become well-prepared in advance for the exams.

WAEC hereby encourages candidates to follow the norms and regulations governing the examination by avoiding all acts of malpractice and adhering to the Covid-19 protocols that have been implemented at the examination centers.

When is WAEC 2023 starting?

The West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) for school candidates, 2023/2024, says that the WAEC exams will begin on Monday, May 9, 2023, and end on Friday, June 24, 2023. (For Nigerian Students). English Language will be held on an unannounced day, whereas General Mathematics will be held on an unannounced date.

How to Make Use of the WAEC Schedule

When you have access to the 2023 WAEC Timetable, it’s best to browse over it slowly because the Timetable is extensive and appears to be somewhat complicated. Make a note of the dates of your tests and write them down on paper, preferably on the wall.
Try making a reading schedule for yourself with the Timetable.

WAEC subjected to Change

Please keep in mind that the West African Examination Council reserves the right to withdraw or modify the MAY/JUNE WAEC Timetable if there is a major or minor conflict with any event such as religious activities or public holidays. The exam board will have to step in to edit the timetable to accommodate all religious faithful so that they can observe their religious rites.

  1. The difference in Time on Question Paper and Timetable: Where the duration indicated on the question paper differs from that on the timetable, the one on the question paper should be followed.
  2. Question Papers to be Given Out in Advance of the Dates They Are to be Taken
    1. Visual Art 3
      • Paper 3A – Instructions will be given to schools two weeks before the paper is due to be taken.
      • Paper 3B – Question paper will be given to candidates two weeks before it is due to be taken.
      • Paper 3C -Candidates will be required to execute their projects within six months of the examination year. The period of submission of art pieces will be communicated to schools by the Council.
    2. Block Laying, Bricklaying and Concrete Works 3 (Practical): Question paper will be given to candidates three days before the paper is due to be taken.
    3. Project Work Papers: The question papers for project work for Basketry, Graphic Design, Leatherwork, Ceramics, Sculpture, Picture Making, Textiles, Jewellery, Painting & Decorating, Dyeing & Bleaching and Leather Goods Manufacturing & Repair will be forwarded to candidates two weeks in advance of the examination.
