One of the important things a candidate must know about his/her chosen institution is the institution’s Cut-off Mark! The institution may be a University, a Polytechnic, or even a college, it is very essential for candidates to know the Cut-off Mark of the institution.

The major reason for knowing the Cut-off Mark is so as to know how well he/she has to prepare for the Jamb and post UTME exams.

Yes, every candidate must prepare very well but as we all know some courses like Medicine and Surgery, Engineering courses, Law and others have a very high Cut-off Mark as compared to some courses. So, a candidate who chose to study Law must know he/she has to prepare very well so as to not only meet the Cut-off Mark but to beat the Cut-off Mark!

Competition is very high for some courses than others, so if your course Cut-off Mark is high, then you should know the competition is very high! The higher the competition, the higher the Cut-off mark.

Here, I will give you what you need but before we go, I will like to explain what is Cut-off Mark, Departmental Cut-off Mark, and General Cut-Off Mark.

What is a Cut-Off Mark?

The cut-off Mark is the minimum score a candidate must meet to be eligible for admission into a certain institution. As I said, it is not a good idea to be planning to meet the Cut-off Mark, rather be planning to beat the Cut-off Mark.

Take for instance, the cut-off mark of FUNAAB is 100 and a candidate scored 99, he will not be eligible to register for the post UTME and will definitely not be eligible for admission. Candidates who scored significantly higher than the required Cut-Off mark, will be treated more favorably in the admission process than those who only scored the exact Cut-Off mark.

FUNAAB General Cut-Off Mark 2022/2023

This is the minimum score that a student must obtain to be admitted to a school. If your score falls below a school’s cut-off mark, you won’t be able to register for their Post-UTME, which means you won’t be admitted to that school.

Each school is free to set its own cut-off Mark. They are, however, unable to impose a cut-off mark lower than the JAMB minimum.

FUNAAB Departmental Cut-Off  Mark 2022/2023

The Departmental Cut-Off mark is the minimum Cut-Off mark for admission into various departments in a particular University. The more competitive the course, the higher the Cut-off Mark. Every year, each university sets a cut-off mark for all courses. Some departments publish theirs, whereas others do not.
